Dessine-moi un mouton!

It’s nothing you are supposed to know, but one of my favorite books has always been Le Petit Prince (El principito, The little prince) by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. It keeps making sense (sometimes different sense) each time I go through it (considering that I first read it when I was 8 ) and some of its ideas and quotes have became a “classic” in my life.

As you may remember, the little guy appears asking the pilot to draw him a sheep (and after many tries, the drawing the little prince like the most was the one that didn’t showed the sheep but it contained it). Well, turns out that Amazon, through its Mechanical Turk sidebranch proposed to its online workers to get 0.02 USD just for drawing a sheep facing left on a specially designed web page.

The result? 10,000 different sheeps drawed online throughout 40 days. All those little fellows have been traveling arround the world in some exhibitions, and all of them can be observed (including the actual process the worker followed to draw it) and even bought at the project Webpage www.thesheepmarket.com.  A really interesting concept of collaborative and interactive digital art.

I missed the “call for sheeps” but here is my own sheep, I dont think it makes it to any exhibition, is ugly as hell, but… I still like it (you could try yourself).

cheeeeeeeeers!

    Hola!!!
No sé que pasa en este universo pero últimamente muchas personas han confesado su gusto por el Principito. Debe ser algún tipo de onda o conexión cósmica.
Y a mí también me gusta mucho. Creo que es el libro que mas veces he leído (o casi)
